Discovery Kidzone Staff


(Lead Pre-K and Kindergarten Teacher)

Rachel Supalla

Rachel has been in the early childhood field for over 20 years. She went to college in Springfield, Mo and San Diego California for a degree in Early Childhood education. Rachel became Montessori certified in 2010 and has since developed a unique, progressive educational system that combines the best of all early childhood methods. Rachel has written articles for several magazines and online publications discussing early childhood and Montessori methods. Her unique early childhood methods have been featured on many popular early childhood websites and are well known throughout the country. Through careful observations and assessments the staff at Discovery Kidzone has seen great success with this method of education. Rachel is continuing her education to eventually obtain her master’s degree in Early Childhood Administration and Curriculum Development. When she is not working the education field she is at home with her husband and high school sweetheart, Eric. She has been happily married for 15 years and is the proud mother of 4 children Abigail, Allison, Zackary and Trenton. She has recently begun writing and blogging. Developing and sharing new teaching methods is her passion! Rachel enjoys being in the outdoors, water skiing, 4 wheeling, horseback riding, traveling with her family, gourmet cooking, baking, decorating and anything creative.

Infant/Toddler Director

Ashlee Mikesell

Ashlee has her bachelor’s degree in education and has over 12 years of experience in the early childhood field. She has volunteered at her church for several years, worked as an infant toddler teacher and preschool teacher. She has also run her own home daycare and has 4 busy boys of her own. Ashlee is enthusiastic, organized and innovative. She is a great addition to our team. She leads with passion and has a loving spirit to her fellow teachers and children she cares for. She is busy with her husband and boys and she likes to spend time in the great outdoors camping.

Assistant Director

Melissa Velin

Melissa is working to finish her Child Development Associates this year.  She has over 11 years of experience in the Early Childhood field.  Melissa owned a licensed child care program in Las Vegas and worked with the state to develop a menu and food plan for her program.  She is a wonderful cook and baker.  Melissa is our food program coordinator.  She is always coming up with creative and yummy meals for our kids to eat.  She is a married military wife and mom to two boys and two girls.   Melissa is a creative and fun-loving person and a great member of our team!

Lead Pre-K and Kindergarten Teacher

Debbie Supalla

Debbie has been in the early childhood field for over 26 years.  She went to college in Washington for a degree in Early childhood education.  Debbie has taught Kindergarten and preschool and was an elementary school principal in San Diego California.  She has done everything from children’s pastor to PTA president.  She is currently working on her Montessori Certification.  When Debbie is not teaching Kindergarten she is with her husband and high school sweetheart, Bruce.  Debbie and Bruce love living in Montana.  They were a Navy family for over 20 years and have settled down in our beautiful city.  Debbie has 2 children, Eric and Kevin and 4 grand children.  She loves to sew, spend time with family, help others, volunteer at St. Peter’s hospital, volunteer at her church, scrapbook and go to Christian concerts.  Debbie’s bubbly personality greets our families at the door each morning and she is a joy to have at our school for the last 5 years.

Lead 3’s and 4’s preschool Teacher

Jaymie Noble

Jaymie has her Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She has been in the education field for over 20 years.  Jaymie has been a teacher at Discovery Kidzone for 4 years along with extensively serving her church, community and Montana City School.  Jaymie was voted PTA president of the year for Montana City school and is an extremely helpful and giving person.  She is an enthusiastic teacher that thrives on organizing the perfect classroom setting.  She is a creative teacher that comes up with exciting thematic and movement activities to teach to her class.  You will often see Jaymie doing a silly dance in the morning and all the children are engaged.  Jaymie is happily married and has 2 children Samantha and Dalton who both attend Montana City School. When she isn’t at Discovery Kidzone you can find Jaymie volunteering somewhere or making some of her fabulous Baklava to sell.

Pre-K Teacher

Amber Chiles

Amber has her Early Childhood teaching certificate from California. She has over 7 years of experience in the Early childhood field.  Amber recently worked at an accredited Child Development Center on base in San Diego. She is an incredible teacher and specializes in Pre-K education. Amber moved to Montana last spring with her husband and son. She loves line dancing and hanging out in the great outdoors.

Lead Toddler Teacher

Chelsea Rauser

Chelsea has her degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has been in the field for over 6 years.  She recently moved back to Helena from White Sulfur Springs where she owned a home daycare and preschool.  Chelsea is married and has two children.  She is very creative and thrives on making her classroom a fun and interesting place for toddlers and twos.

Stacey Lowry

Stacey Lowry is currently enrolled to obtain her associates degree in Early childhood education. She has 3 years experience in the field.  Stacey is a sweet, soft spoken, kind natured, hard working teacher. She loves the babies and toddlers and takes good care of them.

Aurora Sebestyen

Aurora is Montessori Certified and has her degree in Early Childhood education.  Aurora has over 12 years of experience in the Early Childhood field.  She has ran her own licensed daycare, was the director of an accredited Child Development Center on base in San Diego and was the assistant director and lead teacher at a Montessori School in Colorado.   Aurora just recently moved to Helena, Montana to be closer to her grandkids.  We are excited to have Aurora as our infant lead and next year she will be our lead Pre-K teacher and Montessori specialist.

Infant teacher

Shantell Johnson

Shantell is our bubbly and loving turtle teacher.  She is in the process of completing her Child Development Associates and has 2 years experience working with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Shantell is also the lead preschool and kindergarten teacher at Helena First Assembly on Sunday mornings.

Office Manager

Eric Supalla

Eric has over 13 years experience as a project manager and has extensive experience with computers and office management.  Eric is also in the process of obtaining his Child Development Associates and becoming an infant/toddler specialist.  Eric is our pro-care expert.  You will see him anywhere from the office to the preschool to the infant room rocking babies.  He is a Jack of all trades and a huge asset to our school.

Music Teacher

Sheree Vainio

Sheree is currently one of the Children’s pastors at Helena first assembly of God.  She has developed and directed many children’s programs and camps in Montana.  Sheree also owns Kidsong Music and has a facepainting business.  Sheree is extremely creative and fun when it comes to anything related to kids!  She is going to be teaching our music program and helping with program development in the office.  We are excited to have Sheree on our team.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children in the great outdoors 4 wheeling and camping.  Sheree also likes to scrapbook and create teaching materials in her free time.
